Manual VAT Refund Calculator Formulas
> 1. Add VAT (When You Want to Add VAT to Net Price)
- Formula:
VAT Amount = (Original Cost x VAT%) / 100 Total Price = Original Cost + VAT Amount
- Example:
- VAT Rate: 15%
- Original Cost: R1,000
- VAT Amount = (1000 x 15) / 100 = R150
- Total (Including VAT) = R1,150
2. Remove VAT (From a VAT-Inclusive Price)
- Formula:
VAT Amount = Original Cost - (Original Cost x (100 / (100 + VAT %))) Net Price = Original Cost - VAT Amount
- Example:
- VAT Rate: 15%
- Total (Incl. VAT): R1,150
- VAT Amount = 1150 – (1150 x (100 / 115)) = R150
- Net Price = R1,000
